Tanya Janssen (Zutendaal, Belgium) has overpopulation and its consequences as a theme in her work. Man has overgrown the world as a kind of weed. This creates aggression, and isolation. We are cut off from our own nature. In her paintings for example, the viewer peeks from behind plant growth to the world that man has created. But Tanya also paints fairy-like forests that are in full sunlight, beautiful but also ominous.
