ENDLESS SUMMER
Galerie Nasty Alice brings together the work of three painters who each translate their view of the world onto canvas in their own unique way.
Galerie Nasty Alice presents Endless Summer, a group exhibition by Andrea Lehnert, Bo de Jong and Elena Lovich.
Andrea Lehnert’s work moves between the abstract and the concrete, the rational and the irrational. Her paintings emerge without a preconceived plan; flowers, mountains and valleys are formed. Lehnert applies colors in a non-systematic way, allowing them to blend into one another, and adding accents with pastels, oil sticks, and paint. Her work is twofold. Lehnert wants to bring order, so that those who view them can orient themselves. At the same time, she shows landscapes that are about to explode, that want to burst out colors and explode with structures.

In her paintings, Bo de Jong captures aspects of nature, whether cultivated or untouched, that often go unnoticed. For De Jong, the world is a wondrously complex whole; the simplified view of reality to which humans aspire is likely more of an illusion than we realize. Trees play a central role in many of De Jong’s works; they are never just trees, but rather actors in a play. They are pruned, climbed, inhabited or admired.

Elena Lovich (1974), born in Minsk, Belarus, currently lives and works in Eindhoven. She graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in ’s-Hertogenbosch (2009). Lovich has been exhibiting her work art at instituations such as Pulchri Studio (The Hague) and the National Gallery Belarus. Her work is part of various private and public collections. Lovich’s paintings encompass still lifes and landscapes in which familiar objects come to life through expressive brushwork and a play of color. Her work is characterized by a sense of incompleteness, bold scale, and vibrant colors. The artist’s emotional expression is reflected in spontaneous brushstrokes, transforming each canvas into a pure embodiment of energy.
